Flaminal Gel for treating most wound types

What is Flaminal®

Flaminal® is an alginate-based antimicrobial enzyme gel. It creates the optimal environment for healing without harming healthy tissue. Two formulas address different exudate levels.

Flaminal Hydro
FlaminalHydro

Light formula for wounds with low to moderate exudate. Low alginate.

Best for

Dry or low-exudate wounds

  • Ischaemic arterial and venous ulcers
  • Dry heel pressure ulcers
  • Stalled post-traumatic wounds
  • Post-surgical wounds with impaired tissue trophism
  • First- and second-degree chemical burns
Flaminal Forte
FlaminalForte

Stronger formula for wounds with heavy exudate. High alginate.

Best for

Wounds with heavy exudate

  • Post-surgical wounds complicated by infection
  • Cavities after abscess incision and drainage
  • Superficial second- and third-degree burns
  • Deep stage 3–4 pressure ulcers
  • Traumatic wounds with inflammation
  • Fungating malignant wounds

Why Flaminal®

Why Flaminal®

Six core advantages that make it a universal solution

Wound cleansing

Wound cleansing

The debriding gel in the formulation removes necrotic tissue areas and fibrin.15

Infection control

Infection control

The enzyme-active system in the formulation prevents biofilm formation, including antibiotic-resistant strains of infection.3

Moist environment

Moist environment

The alginate in the formulation controls moisture balance, preventing both drying out and excessive exudation in the wound.5

Epithelialisation

Epithelialisation

Stimulates natural healing and new tissue formation.12

Painless

Painless

Atraumatic dressing changes — the gel does not stick to the wound.4

Universal use

Universal use

One product for all phases of healing — saves time and supplies.12

How it works

How it works: the TIME framework

International standard for assessing and treating chronic wounds

  1. T
    T — Tissue

    Tissue cleansing

Removal of necrotic tissue and fibrin to prepare the wound bed.

  2. I
    I — Infection

    Infection control

Reducing microbial load and fighting biofilm without systemic antibiotics.

  3. M
    M — Moisture

    Moisture balance

Optimal wound bed moisture to activate repair.

  4. E
    E — Edge

    Edge epithelialisation

Stimulating cell migration from the wound edges to close the defect.

Usage

How to apply

  1. Cleanse the wound
    1

    Cleanse the wound

Rinse the wound per local protocols. Dry the surrounding skin.

  2. Apply a 4–5 mm layer
    2

    Apply a 4–5 mm layer

Cover the entire wound bed with an even layer of gel.

  3. Cover with a dressing
    3

    Cover with a dressing

Use a secondary dressing. Change every 1–4 days depending on exudate.
