What it is
BD Micro-Fine Plus is a single-use pen needle. It screws onto the pen via a universal thread, delivers a precise subcutaneous insulin dose, and is removed after the injection. The thin-wall design widens the inner bore: insulin flows more freely and the pen button is easier to press. The tip is laser-sharpened and silicone-coated for a gentler insertion. 100 sterile needles per box.
Four lengths — one for every patient
The shorter the needle, the lower the risk of hitting muscle. The length is chosen by the doctor based on body type and injection technique.
4 mm — the shortest
0.23 mm (32G) × 4 mm. Minimal intramuscular-injection risk — recommended for most adults and children. A 90° injection without a skin fold.
5 mm — universal
0.25 mm (31G) × 5 mm. A balanced option for adults using the standard subcutaneous-fat injection technique.
6 mm — medium
0.25 mm (31G) × 6 mm. Suitable for adults; a skin fold is usually raised to keep the needle out of muscle.
8 mm — long
0.30 mm (30G) × 8 mm. Prescribed at the doctor's discretion. Requires a skin fold and/or a 45° angle for safe subcutaneous delivery.
